Privacy
Short version
Fair Deal Solitaire has no accounts and no tracking. Your progress stays on your device (and, in the iPhone app, your own iCloud). The app counts what players do as anonymous daily totals, and sends anonymous crash reports, so it can be made better. Nothing it sends can tell who you are.
Your progress stays on your device
Your progress and settings are saved in the browser’s storage on this device (in the iPhone app, the app’s own copy of it, with a second copy in the app’s native storage so it survives if iOS clears web storage). None of it is sent to us. In the iPhone app it also syncs to your other iPhone or iPad through your own iCloud (Settings › iCloud turns it off); Apple keeps that copy in your iCloud account, and it never reaches us. Deleting the app, or clearing this site’s data in your browser, deletes the copy on this device.
Anonymous daily counts
To learn what works and what doesn’t, the app adds 1 to daily totals such as:
- the app was opened, and how many days since this device first opened it (in ranges like “4–7 days”);
- how long a session lasted (in ranges like “5–15 minutes”);
- the app’s language and the kind of device (phone, tablet, desktop);
- first-run tips seen and features used;
- the purchase screen: opened, closed, and whether a purchase or restore went through;
- app updates checked, downloaded and applied (the iPhone app), and how many errors happened.
Each count also carries the platform (web or iPhone app) and the week this device first opened the app, which thousands of players share. There is no device, player or purchase ID, and no exact time: our server only keeps totals per day. Your IP address is used for a moment to limit how often a device can send, and is never stored.
Crash data
When something in the app breaks, it sends the technical error message and code location, with anything you typed removed, plus which version of the app was running. At most a few reports a day, with no ID of any kind. They are stored as daily totals per error.
App updates
The iPhone app can fix itself between App Store versions by downloading new files from our server. To check for them it sends only which update channel it follows (test or public), the app’s build number and the version of its files. Nothing else, and no ID.
Purchases
Purchases go through Apple’s App Store; Apple handles the payment, and we never see your name, Apple ID or payment details. The app uses RevenueCat to check that a purchase is yours and to restore it. RevenueCat knows your purchase only by a random, anonymous ID it creates in the app, not linked to your name or email. See RevenueCat’s privacy policy. If you ask Apple for a refund, RevenueCat tells Apple, for that purchase only, whether it was delivered, so Apple can decide; by buying in the app you agree to this.
Our host, Cloudflare
The app and its small server run on Cloudflare. Like any website host, Cloudflare logs requests (such as the IP address, the browser, and the time) to run and protect its network, under Cloudflare’s privacy policy. We don’t keep those logs, and we don’t use them to identify anyone.
Children, ads and third parties
Fair Deal Solitaire shows no ads, has no social features, and uses no third-party analytics or advertising tools. It doesn’t collect personal information from anyone, children included. We don’t sell or share data.
